The special issue guest-edited by the NEST Research Network is forthcoming and will feature five articles developed within the NEST cluster, alongside additional contributions from scholars approaching related themes through a transdisciplinary lens. The issue also includes a curated selection of book reviews, further enriching the dialogue on the role of narrative in ecological and sustainable transitions.
Welcome to our conference! We are glad and honored to host over 25 scholars from around the world who, from different disciplinary perspectives, explore strategies for “nesting theory and praxis” through literature-based workshops. This gathering offers a unique opportunity to engage critically and creatively with how narrative can shape, inform, and transform our responses to contemporary environmental and social challenges.
The Call for Scholars, Artists, and Thinkers for "Narratives for Ecological and Sustainable Transition(s)" is now open! We welcome applications from researchers around the world whose work explores theories and methodologies aligned with the NEST framework. The event will center on workshops, alongside poster presentations and blind panel discussions, to foster dialogue and mutual enrichment around the role of narrative in addressing the challenges of today’s world.
A workshop series titled "Literature and Air Pollution" was held in Treviglio (BG), involving five different high schools and over 300 students. Organized by Stefano Rozzoni, the initiative used narratives on air pollution—from the Victorian tradition to contemporary texts—to raise awareness of the issue in a region known for some of the highest recorded pollution levels worldwide.
The CFP for a special issue dedicated to NEST has just been released by Metacritic Journal for Comparative Studies and Theory. The issue (July 2025) will be titled: "NARRATIVES FOR ECOLOGICAL AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSITION(S): TRANSDISCIPLINARY TRAJECTORIES ACROSS THEORY AND PRAXIS".

The special rountable exchange is organized with several scholars of the Department of Education and Teacher Training of the Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences,tilted "NEST Building". Maria Jordet and Stefano Rozzoni faciliated a discussion on the preliminary educational framwork developed in the context of the NEST Research Network!

The workshop "Temporal Landscape and Nesting" takes place at the Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC), in Giessen, co-conducted by Deborah DeMuijnck and Stefano Rozzoni.
N.E.S.T. has been presented at the 'The Pedagogy Festival' organised by Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences at Hamar Theatre, Norway on Wednesday 10th of September.
