The (Online) Lecture Series
The urgent environmental crises demand scholars to continuously explore new initiatives in addressing the increasing disaffection towards this subject among people and institutions. Despite environmental urges igniting discussions across various cultural domains, spanning politics to education, their focus often reveals core dualistic and anthropocentric implications linked to the topic. Moreover, some environmental initiatives lack attentiveness toward effective or educational strategies to promote deep, effective, and long-term engagement of people with environmental urges.
This project aims to bridge these gaps by focusing on five primary areas – literary and cultural, philosophical, cultural, socio-economic, and both formal and informal educational contexts – to offer a grounded exploration on how narratives contribute to raising awareness about the risks associated with climate change and to addressing the ethical challenges stemming from contemporary environmental crises while offering practical activities to have an impact on civil society.
While the network is conducted by a core of five main investigators, we rely on the help and collaboration of other experts worldwide, whose vision allows us to delve deeper into our inquiry. We are glad to share the materials on which we are building our self-education. That’s why we have created a series of short lectures revolving around different takes on ‘nesting’. Feel free to share the program or connect.
